This is just in reflection upon yesterday and what transpired 11 years ago. I was talking about it last night, and it was truly surreal: to be attacked and in such horrifying and violent way and then to see everyone rebuild and become what we are now. Granted American policy is no where what I believe it should be nor what I feel it has the potential to be. However, the aftermath of 9/11 demonstrated to me something which amazes me to this day. The solidarity of our country during the aftermath was like no other I have experienced in this country. It was the realization of the beauty and potential that can exist inside an individual person. We live in such a unique country where our ideas are our own and we are not penalized for it. We can speak our beliefs, believe what we want and seek the education/job/life in the voracious spirit only America knows. I was watching this clip of Jon Stewart and just wanted to share this and just some of my musings. This is a day late, but as always hindsight proves to be the most poignant and transformative.
